A Wheel Chair
UP FOR GRABS
A Wheel Chair began as a curb-mined chair with a broken backrest and ended up with a second life and a sense of humor. A spare bicycle wheel from a local bike shop becomes the new "back," turning damage into design and giving the piece its punny title. Hand-painted in bold, playful color and pattern, it leans more toward sculpture than seating. The hub and hardware make it a less-than-cozy perch, on purpose, because this piece is about form, presence, and the delight of a repair that refuses to hide.
